I suspect that if you have a wedding that is serving alcohol that is when the problems start with Lauri, the owner. My nieces wedding was shut down at 9:30. On a hot summer night in August 2014 no beverages of any sort; pop, water or alcohol were served after 9:30. My brother in law offered to purchase the extended package for another hour and was told NO. Be careful she has that clause that says at the owners discretion. My advice - Stay away from this place. My husband and I had our wedding reception here August 2014. We live in Connecticut and planned our reception with Laurie by phone and email. She made it so easy for us especially since we were not able to visit the venue until we arrived in town the day before our event. She guided us perfectly. We and all of our guests had an extraordinary evening. The decorations were beautiful, the food was so delicious and the service was impeccable. All of the negative reviews are absolutely true...Laurie was very controlling and unorganized. Appetizers ran out way early, Bar closed at 9:30 and completely killed the party when the hall was rented till midnight, very slow bar service and $5 per drink, $400 to take a ride on the swan boat is ridiculous, was 90 degrees outside and she left everyone sit in the hot sun for an extra 25 minutes before the vows started, very bitchy the entire day made everyone feel uncomfortable, threatened to cut people off of drinking before ... read more
Beautiful place but poor service. They say they can accommodate far more than they can. We had 240 people. They said no problem but it was insanely cramped... to an uncomfortable degree. The party also paid a great deal of money for the bar... Which they closed one hour after dinner. More money was provided to keep it open. The party was told no.
