Rude as hell for a place with 2 stars Posting on behalf of a family member that was simply calling about a referral and to see if this place was accepting new patients. This place would be a closer drive than Kalamazoo, and I would like to add that this family member is really struggling to drive long distances because of his condition. I was hesitant to come here after reading the reviews, but everyone was wonderful. Previous reviews showed lots of complaints about the receptionist, but the one I had was really nice and friendly. I saw the nurse practitioner Michael and he was great too. He was very thorough, took his time with me, and explained things in a way that I could understand. Only drawback is it takes a long time to get in. It took 6 months to get an appointment.
It took me a while to decide to write this but it’s time I speak up so that no one has to go thru the pain that I endured with having “Dr” Ward as my neurologist. I have a rare condition called IIH where I literally get crushed alive from the inside out. Debilitating pain and vision loss etc. After being dismissed, mocked and belittled by Ward I went to seek a second opinion at which point be mocked me even more and even called me a typical “hysterical woman” and sent me to psych. This is one of the worst Lakeland facilities in Saint Joseph/Benton Harbor area. I had a referral sent to them from my provider to run an EMG test due to tingling on my hand which was getting worse. I called them several times to schedule the appointment without success. Every time, if they respade to the call, there was a different excuse. Last one was "the nurse has to talk to the neurologist before they can schedule the appointment". dr. Ward is very down to earth. Great sense of humor very understanding very helpful knowledgeable. His staff is great
