The cost of vet care at Hillcrest Animal Hospital has has gotten expensive. My dog was there for a possible UTI. I was charged 99.00 instead of the standard 79.00 (which is already high) for a illness visit instead of a wellness check. The appointment took a total of 12 minutes. This is $495.00 an hour for care... There was no difference in the appointment at all. Just an excuse to charge 20.00 extra dollars. Recently purchased Uptown Animal is hospital in Chicago. Lakefield is only in it for the money not pet care.
This is a private equity group that buys out a lot of animal hospitals such as emerald city emergency clinic in order to make profits for their investors. Please make sure your vet is locally owned and not a private equity owned business as the priorities of the patients and PE-owned business are obviously very different.
