Our family did the petting zoo tour here and had a wonderful time. Our guide was very kind and accommodating and gave us a lot of information about the animals and the economics of sheep farming in NZ. We met a wee lamb named Bean, the star of the show, who followed us around and "herded" the other farm animals. We'll never forget her!
We really enjoyed our time from Andy, and the casual approach to this tour of farm life on the south Island in New Zealand. Informative, well-paced, and I’m glad we attended! Jack and Jane.
My husband and I did the Mt Hay Station Farm experience and the petting zoo and absolutely loved it. All of the tour guides were extremely nice and made the experience feel very authentic. We started with a tour of the farm which really felt like a behind the scenes experience of farm life. We got to see the cows up close and learn about the farm maintenance, the crops they eat, and more. This is a MUST DO thing when come to lake Tekapo. The tour guide provides such in depth informational guide of their farm and GOSH, it’s such a huge place !!! That farm alone is 1/3 of Singapore land space. They showed us how they do crop rotation, sheep shearing, how they trained sheep dogs and demonstration of sheep herding. They brought us to “behind the scene” places to understand how high tech farming has become for city dwellers like us to gain insights.
