If I could give 0 stars, I would. On May 28, 2026, my girlfriend and I rented Unit A20. Within minutes of opening the unit, we found a LIVE cockroach, along with multiple dead roaches scattered throughout the unit. Concerned, we placed sticky traps and returned the following day only to find even more LIVE cockroaches. This was not a random bug that wandered in. We purchased a unit from the Fruitvale location yesterday May 28, 2026. When I went to move a few things in yesterday I found one cockroach, along with lots of mice droppings. My boyfriend and I decided to throw some mice poison around the perimeter of our unit. Well today I went back May 29, 2026 and I found two more cockroaches, I’ve called and left a voicemail along with an email. I have been trying to contact the Montague facility for over a week, but I cannot get past the automated system. I received one call back about a week ago, the personnel I spoke with was going to have a lock installed on my unit and they were going to call me back so I could pick up the key. I still have not received a call back and my items remain in my storage unit unsecured. I do not recommend this facility.
Conflicted on the number of stars to give .. Pros: easy to coordinate with for move in and move out, easy to use website, lovely customer service any time I've had questions. No flooding or any weather related concerns. Cons: MICE. Lots of mice, causing lots of damage to anything that wasnt secured in a locking tote. I lost a mattress, arm chair, clothing and numerous blankets that were in cardboard moving boxes, several travel duffles, most of my christmas decor, and a number of items that just weren't worth the scrubbing. ... read more
