Fantastic gym when you can hit it at the right time! They are under new management and it’s noticeable! They’re actively trying to improve the equipment and amenities.
Every time I purchase a membership here, I have to wait weeks or even months to get the code. The last time around, I was provided a code by phone. When the center closed for upgrades, I was not given access that I purchased and was asked to prove that I have a valid membership. They essentially called me a liar, despite the many things I have done for Lake Junaluska over the years. The equipment is very dated and some of does not work very well. This is a limited gym, like you'd find in an apartment complex. They have vintage Nautilus equipment. It's kept clean. I wouldn't mind it being limited, if everything worked. They have a dual cable pulley machine, but one pulley is broken. One treadmill is broken. There isn't a mirror, in the free weight area. You look at a blank wall. They charge $50 a month, which makes them more expensive than the Hospital Fitness Center. I wouldn't mind, if everything worked.
