Dr. Hamel was an absolute delight! From the moment my husband and I walked in, it was as if he’d known us for years, just like our family PCP! Dr Hamel and his staff (please forgive me for not including her name) were personable, attentive, and extremely efficient. We were in/out, with a cleaned out ear & prescription ear drops. The whole experience reminded me of the Netflix series, “Virgin River”. We highly recommend Dr. Hamel & Lake James Urgent Care! 10/10!

I arrived with my child at around 11pm and called the phone number listed on the door, and Dr. Hamel arrived within 5 minutes. We're out of town visitors at the local Boy Scout Camp, so I had no idea who to call, but Google said this was the closest facility, and I am SO thankful. The doctor was friendly (and got my shy tween to actually talk) and has years and years of experience (I now know.) I needed urgent but not emergency care on Sunday evening, and all places closer to me had already closed. A friend had previously been seen here and had told us about her good experience, so we decided to make the drive from about 30 mins away. My husband called ahead to give them my info, and they were ready and waiting when we arrived.
