They were closed on January 17th despite no mention of this on their socials. Drove 25 minutes to get there for nothing. Not even a sign on the door. It was a perfect night during the new moon. No clouds. Massive disappointment. Whoever runs this needs to get their act together.
Went with my wife last night! It was a super clear night and you could see a lot with your naked eye. Really enjoyed how knowledgeable and friendly the workers were. We got to see Saturn with its rings and, the Andromeda Galaxy! Highly recommend!

Star stuff
This is one of the greatest cheap activities you can do on a weekend in the Wichita area. I don't think people realize how unique it is to have a decently sized city like Wichita so close to an area dark enough for an observatory this size. I highly recommend this for a date or for friends that want to learn a bit about space
