I have been beyond difficult since coming to City of Hope for multiple reasons ( I live in a small town and didnt get to an oncologist for 3-4 months due to covid, small town etc, rare disease), I literally didnt think I would make it … by the time I reached COH I was desperate for a cure as I didnt think I had much longer… I had found soemthing that knocked my pts down by 100 and really saved my life and I post poned surgery 2x. I was referred to COH by my insurance company. I was told after a colonoscopy that I had a large cancerous mass. From our first meeting to the surgery to remove 40% of my colon, appendix and 56 lymph nodes, to inpatient recovery, to follow up post op, Dr Lai was most caring. I immediately trusted her and felt in the best of hands. While I lost a lot of my colon, the biopsies were all proved negative for cancer, a blessing for sure. Thank you Dr Lai and your staff, thank you COH for such professionalism.
This amazing Doctor saved my life! I was so scared about my cancer diagnosis and she made me feel like "we" could take care of it together. It has been six years now and I have a new life! I am so grateful to her. God bless this women. She is so talented, gifted, and yet unbelievably compassionate.
