If you had asked me to write a review of this school in 2017, I would have had mostly good things to say about it, except that students are SEVERELY overworked and I couldn't keep my weight up from lack of nutrition and sleep deprivation. The system needs serious reworking. The Provost holds all the power and has damaged what I think could be a beautiful college. I stayed silent because I was threatened and intimidated by her and the faculty in the animation department. LCAD politics is toxic and they openly discriminate. I ... read more
I cannot recommend prospective animation students attend this institution, at least under its current leadership. I say this as an alumni and former faculty member of the Feature Animation Department. During my tenure as a student at this school my skills were buoyed by a group of dedicated instructors; instructors who went above and beyond their job description. I had a pretty awful experience when going to LCAD from start to finish. I talked with their staff before sign up day, because i didn't have the budget to be there for a long amount of time, and I needed to do certain classes in a certain timeframe to graduate and still afford it. They agreed to make sure I got into the right classes, and told me to come back on sign up day and tell them my name so they could help me accordingly.
