Dr Lacava has been a fine as a pcp for check ups, but I’ve been sick or had acute issues 4 or 5 times and every time he’s booked up for weeks with no availability for sick visits. They always try to get me to see a nurse practitioner which sort of defeats the purpose of having a primary care provider and doctor. The woman who helps schedule is also extremely unpleasant and rude. Changing providers to someone who will actually see me when I’m sick!
Thoughtful, sympathetic, clear in explanations. As in much modern medicine, there is pressure on physicians to use time efficiently, but I never felt rushed or scanted for attention. I highly recommend Dr. Lacava.
Been seeing him for many years. Since the pandemic he has not been compassionate at all. It is hard to understand what has changed. Won’t help or spend the allotted time with me that I have scheduled. Made promises regarding my care he could not keep.
I have been seeing Dr lacava for over 12 years. He is excellent at diagnosing health issues and takes the time to explain things thoroughly. He follows up and suggests ways to improve health.
Dr. Lacava is a wonderful doctor. I highly recommend him. He is very caring, and he is very good doctor!
Dr. Lacava has been my internist for many years. Although I moved to Florida, I continue to see him and to seek his advice in NJ. As a result of his diligence, my 11.5 cm gist (gastrointernal stromal tumor) was discovered in a sonogram test that he ordered. This tumor might not have been discovered in time without Dr. Lacava's thoroughness, alertness and medical instinct. Although he is a very busy physician, he always takes the time to listen and to explain any medical issues that arise.
