Those techs really know about taking blood from kids . The only place I would bring a child.
Truly phenomenal experience. Brought my 9 y/o daughter with nonverbal autism for bloodwork and expected the worst but got the best. Mrs. Sandra the phlebotomist is an actual angel. You can’t convince me otherwise. Blown away and so appreciative. Not discounting others’ experiences, but ours was fantastic. Only negative aspect is the waiting room which is out in the open and not ideal for kids.
Lab opening times on website do not match actual open times. This is the second time we’ve arrived early for 7-7:30 a.m. Cortisol levels only for the lab to be closed. Until either 7:30 Or 8. Then the receptionist wanted to argue with me about what time the lab opens. Which is rude. Last time the lab tech didn’t even know why the doctor wanted the lab drawn and “blood out of your child’s body before 7:30”. Son had to get blood work after seeing a specialist. We were told to go downstairs. My seven year has developed a bit of white coat syndrome, but I was hopeful since we were at a children’s hospital. Nope, I was wrong. I had to sign in on a computer despite having problems with it. Not much help and told they were couldn’t sign him in. When someone did help and the third try, she gave a top rating as she skipped through the screens.
