I want to share my horrible disappointing experience during a recent blood draw with Consuelo at Lab Corp. 222 Oak Ave, Toms River. She knew I had anxiety with needles and used a thicker gauge needle to draw my blood that caused significant and unnecessary pain. As a senior citizen, I expected more care and the use of an appropriate sized needle for my condition.. Really annoying when you hand your IDs & repeat your name & birthdate to your tech for them to input your birthday wrong. Leading to your results not being in or accessible when you drive to your doctors appointment 40 minutes away :)
Just wanted to say for a guy who constantly has to get routine labwork and has thinner veins, its not always an easy task. I've had many people struggle over the years and do it either painfully or not correctly. Leah at Toms River Labcorp is the ABSOLUTE BEST. She is one of the very few that takes the time to feel my veins and not go by just looking for them. Love the staff at this location, they work very hard for a very busy office. Consuelo is amazing at drawing blood, and the rest of the staff is always kind, patient and professional. They all deserve a raise for the amount of patients they process in a day. I took my 2 year old daughter for blood work and the phlebotomist had difficulty finding the vein. Instead of stopping or asking for help, she moved the needle around several times, fishing for the vein causing my daughter a lot of pain. When I asked her to stop and get someone else, she removed the needle, got upset, and left the room without saying a single word.
