I’m still thinking about how weird our experience was last night at the LVL bar. I had an incredibly difficult time finding anything I even wanted on the bar menu and when I finally settled on the French dip, I was told they didn’t actually have it. Okay…I asked about the “girl dinner” (insert eye roll) of shrimp scampi, a fennel salad, truffle fries and an “LVL martini.” Could I sub out the martini for a glass of wine? We just tried La Ville Lumière for my birthday and it was SUCH a great experience from start to finish! We did the prix fixe menu and added the oyster special! First course was galette de crabe, and steak tartare. The galette and tartare were both absolutely amazing. I think the galette de crabe was my favorite bite of the night. We were here for a 5-course (no dessert or salad) meal and wine tasting with a group from Mimi U. Each course was well prepared and excellent as were the wine tastings selected by Jack Keegan. Even with so many people and so many courses the service was impeccably orchestrated.
Amazing happy hour menu with oysters and super reasonable combo dinner (steak, frites, martini) and such. Beautiful patio. The GM, Maurice Hill, was super accommodating. Can’t wait to come back for the oyster restaurant, Brine Bar, they said is soon opening next door.
We had wonderful experience for our anniversary. They were very accommodating for my numerous allergies. It was an all around a fantastic meal.
