A Hidden Gem by Central Park – Great Stay with Outstanding Staff Well, this is truly a hidden gem! I chose La Quinta by Wyndham near Central Park for its location, and it didn’t disappoint. It was close to work and within walking distance in every direction to major attractions. If you’re headed to the business district, you might need a bike or an Uber, but for sightseeing, it’s perfect. For New York, the price was totally affordable. While we love to leave a good review, and were greeted and helped by everyone we asked for help from, our stay here will definitely be the last. Our room cards never worked the first time. We had to have them remade almost every time we went to our room and the door didnt open. By the second morning of our stay, the door wouldnt open at all and they had to get a special tool to open the door. Mike was wonderful, but it didn’t change the hassle of the event. Got to the hotel at 4 pm an hour after check in was told our room was not ready to wait 30 minutes we said that was fine we were exhausted from holding our bags all morning throughout the city 30 minutes passed told us 15 more minutes we decided to leave our bags and go get food came back around 6 pm the room was ready nearly 2 hours later than originally planned got to the room i will admit it is a little small but its new york im used to it first night i go to wrap myself up in the blanket and i see in the light the sheets... read more
