nice spot for a casual date – my wife and I showed up without a reservation on a Saturday night and could only get seated at the bar. They have the full tapas menu available, both hot and cold, plus entrees. Seemed like a nice variety, though heavy on meat dishes. We tried a pear and goat cheese salad, nicely creamy with sweet-spicy walnuts. Also had the Tortilla Paisana--basically a cross between a quiche and a potato fritata. Very tasty and filling. delicious food & fun atmosphere – I have been visiting Luna Negra for about three or four years. My friend and I heard about it and decided to try it out. We were both very pleased. I have taken many friends to Luna Negra over the years and everyone has loved it. The decor is rustic and funky....the food delicious.....and the flamenco show is fabulous and upbeat! My favorite dish is the Paella de Pollo with the spicy cilantro sauce.
crappy place! – My family and I stumbled across this restaurant because Buca Di Beppos wasn't open for lunch for another 45 minutes, so we decided to check it out and see how good the supposedly authentic spanish cuisine was. The waiter was so slow and the busboys kept dropping silverware...sounded like they were up to something. Another party of 2 came in after us and got served right away whereas it took about 30 minutes to actually take down our order! dinner in chaos – Our dinner trip was a fiasco. I made reservations for a table for 6 for 9PM, when we came in we had to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. I feel that if a restaurant recommends reservations, it should make it a point that the table is available at the agreed time.The restaurant is too crowded because they crammed in as much tables as they could even at the discomfort of patrons. Great place for a date! – This restaurant is fantastic! I highly recommend it!! The food was great, the people were friendly, and atmosphere was perfect!
Large groups – I was with about 20 and the service was fast and helpful. I never had an empty plate or glass of sangria.
Much improved – La Luna Negra is a lot more fun these days. The place used to be a little self-impressed--lately, though, there's less attitude and more conviviality. Decent tapas served in an open, hospitable space. The live flamenco adds to the party.
