The food is pretty good- nice homemade pasta but they add too much sauce for my pesto dish. The staff was chatting near us- swearing and talking loudly near us in the next room. Our waitress neglected us too. I needed to get up and walk over to her to get us to the give us the check. The manager should have his off duty staff hang out farther away from the late diners. It did detract from the dining experience.
Wonderful meal at La Famiglia. Cool location in an old house. Owners are Italian. Friendly vibe. Our food was delicious: focaccia bread, spaghetti with sausage, rigatoni with peppers and sausage, pistachio cream cake, raspberry sorbet. Our server was attentive and helpful in accommodating my dairy allergy. Great experience. Also, reservations showed that they were booked, but we called and they said to come on over. Tables were available.
Having eaten here previously, I suggested it for a small family celebration (just 3 of us). Unfortunately, we were unimpressed. Our server was friendly but hurried. She started to leave before we had finished giving our drink order. I suggested at one point that she take a breath and slow down a bit. As it happened, the drinks came out piecemeal and we had to reject the martini my wife ordered (it had so much vermouth you could barely taste the gin). Definitely the Italian go to place for Huntington!
La Famiglia is consistently one of the best dining spots in Huntington. The dishes always taste fresh and the flavors are incredible. They feature standard Italian dishes and flatbreads. Our favorite is always the special dishes they prepare based on what ingredients they have. They have a nice wine selection as well. Their outdoor space is perfect for evening dining. The service is always outstanding.
