Reservations is a must! Very limited tables and seating. Flew in from Maryland, this is one of my go to for pasta. Food here is exceptional. My partner has Bolognese while I had risotto w/fois gua & tartufo. Very rich flavors, perfectly done too. Appetizer of brussel sprouts were quite amazing too. Nice that they are now open for lunch too. Will be back again and again whenever I'm on the island.
The world food tour duo dined at La Cucina in the Imperial Plaza. I’d heard lots of good things about this intimate restaurant on the ground floor of a mixed-use condo at the corner of Kapiolani and Cooke. I was disappointed with our experience tonight. This place had good reviews so it was disheartening to see it fall so short of expectations. First of all, We had trouble finding the restaurant so trying to call them before our reservation time, which was the time they open for dinner, proved futile. Nobody cares to answer the phone. After getting lucky and finding it a couple minutes before our reservation time, the restaurant is still closed, about 5 minutes past 5:30.
