Best Carpacio Ever – I've eaten in many restaurants world wide and without question the carpacio I ate last night from La Callina (which is the proper spelling of the restaurant) was the best. There was a beautiful creamy mustard sauce drizzled over the beef, capers, cheese that was really outstanding. The creaminess introduced the mustard gently without the acidic taste you would expect. Takes the cake – Now living in Portland, I only get to sample a few of my old Bay Area favorites each year. La Collina though gets me each time with simply the most decadent Italian food in town. The owner feels like your long lost best friend, keeping you warm and full until you waddle home.
