Very thorough, patient with me and clearly explained the procedure.
I went into my first appointment with Dr. Swearingen feeling very hopeful that she could help me identify the root cause of my gut issues. During that visit, I clearly expressed that I wanted to take the most natural approach possible and avoid immediately turning to medication. I was reassured that this approach would be respected. Dr. Swearingen is a jewel! I was so grateful to find her after having been to two other GI’s in the Nashville area who had nothing to offer me but medication. Dr. Swearingen listened attentively to my GI/gut story and journey. She offered her thoughts, opinions and expert advise. She and I are working together to form a plan of action for my issues that are specific to me, not a one size fits all patients with Crohn’s disease. She is so calm, kind and compassionate as well. I can’t say enough good things about her!
