As a tabletop game publisher (board games, card games, book), I'm always looking for affordable ways to print good quality prototypes to show off at conventions, local stores, game days, and other trade events. While shopping around online with all the major print-on-demand websites, I came across a post on one of the game designer forums I'm a member of, and saw Nathan (the owner of Kwik Cards) mention that as a fellow game designer, he has an understanding of what designers and publishers like myself are looking for when it comes to printing prototypes, and quoted a price so much more reasonable than any of the online options, I literally waited up until Kwik Cards opened the next day and called to get more details about the services they offer. Nathan was very easy to work throughout the entire process, and knowing that I had a big convention coming up, finished my printing my project involving over 2200 poker-sized cards in a single day, even taking the time to hand-round the corners, working through the night to mail them off the next day. My cards were mailed priority 3-day, and should have arrived three days before I needed them to, but sadly our post office isn't as efficient or reliable as Kwik Cards, so the post office lost the order for a while, and it looked like they wouldn't have a chance of arriving in time before my big convention. When I told Nathan what was going on with the post office, there was only one day left before I had to leave for the convention. He asked how many copies I needed to show off at the convention. I had initially ordered 5 copies of each game, and told him that while 2 of each would have been nice, 1 copy of each would do. He instead offered to print 2 copies of each, work through the night (again) to get them done, and one-day express them to me at the convention hall at no additional charge (it was on the post office's dime, since Nathan thought to insure the packages, saving me lots). He even said that if there was a problem mailing them, he'd drive them down himself (an 8-hour road trip) just to make sure that I got them on time! In the end, all the prototypes arrived, and they looked great! People were really impressed with them at the convention, and everyone who played was sad that we didn't have any copies we were willing to sell. My experience with Kwik Cards reminds me of what I thought was a long-gone era, one where a local shop not only beats the big guys prices, but also treats the customer like a valued part of their business, not a burden to be "handled". I will gladly continue to give my business to Nathan and Kwik Cards, and look forward to working with him on my future needs! If you want to be treated like a person, not just a purchase order number, then call Kwik Cards! They get my highest vote: 5 Stars! A+++
