I would like to give a shout out to Kwei Fei for the new wimpy menu. My husband loves spice and I do not and now we can both enjoy Kwei Fei! Wimpy doesnt mean they left out the flavor. Wimpy dan dan mian and wimpy lamb dumplings were delicious.
Kwai Fei's food isn't completely authentic, but it's still tasty and uses the right mixture of flavors for Sichuan food. Reasonable choice for Chinese food, especially given the limited good options in Charleston.
Second time and still amazing! We love how this is much more traditional style Chinese cuisine. The menu is seasonal and portions are large enough to share, which is encouraged! I am kinda a wimp when it comes to spicy food. I got the lamb noodles, which they warn is one of their hottest dishes. It was spicy enough to enjoy with no regrets later. Kwei Fei could STEAL my credit card info and I would still come back! I've lived in Charleston for about 20 years and have had all types of cuisines and my wife and I agree that Kwei Fei would be the last meal we would ever want! If you don't like spicy, flavorful and umami, this place is probably not for you. (Ok. That don't HAVE to make it spicy... 🥵 We've brought our little kids here and had them dial it back a bit. One of our favorite restaurants in town and by far the best on the island. Incredible food and super accommodating staff. The Dan Dan noodles are my favorite.
