Useless. I had to come in and tell my own father, as a PA-C myself, that he was dying. Luckily, since I am in medicine, I knew the end was near based on labs I was monitoring from afar and made the abrupt decision to fly in. My dad felt like he had been blindsided. This doctor clearly didn’t want to talk about death and dying because it’s uncomfortable.
