We went to Kura when it first opened and it was good sushi and atmosphere. But today I decided to go back for my birthday and found it smelled really bad. I asked if we could have a new table and she asked if there was a problem with the one we had. I responded that it smelled bad, to which she explained that all tables would smell bad as it was the machine. We said okay and left. It smells like rotting food and chemicals. Unfresh and too pricey. Roll are also stuffed to the brim with rice.
Almost nowhere to park, was told I couldn't sit where I wanted because they have assigned seats.... at conveyor bet sushi place. There was no sushi on the belt but deserts and veggies and some veggie rolls. Didn't want to wait to maybe have a chance to get sushi at 5$ a plate. Do yourself a favor and go to real sushi join. This place is a joke.
I have been to 4 different Kura restaurants now. Two near Chicago, one in L.A. and this one in Indiana. The ones in Chicago area are the best, this location was just okay but almost comparable to the one in LA area as that one was horrible. However my review reflects only this location from my first and only visit to this location back in January of this year. I live 2 hours and 30 minutes away and get there around 7:45pm by myself.
