Krul Lake is easily one of the best hidden gems in the Blackwater area if you want a place that feels peaceful, clean, and actually worth spending a full day at. We came out here for the scenery and some time outdoors, and it ended up being one of those spots that offers way more than people probably expect at first glance. You have to pay online and get a spot. But been going here since I was a kid and before you had to pay. Nice place to learn how to swim for beginners.
Krul lake is such a beautiful area it’s actually crazy. We camped for 2-3 nights last summer and it’s even more beautiful at nighttime (no you cannot swim at night for obvious reasons). The campsites were actually decently spaced not too far but not too close. The bathrooms for the campsite were really awesome, with 4 stalls of bathrooms and showers in individual rooms. I LOVE KRUL, THEY EMPTY THE LAKE IN THE LATE. FALL AND REFILL WITH SPRING FED WATER LATE SPRING .GREAT LIFEGUARDS, NICE BEACHES AND CAMPGROUND.. PEOPLE ARE REAL FRIENDLY., NICE PICNIC TABLES AND GRILLS..ALSO EXCELLENT WOODEN TRAILS WITH 100 FT WALKIN BRIDGE..GREAT PLACE FOR A FAMILY DAY AWAY ..I GIVE 5 STARS .
This is my favorite campground in the area. We have been camping at Krul for close to 10 years. It has water & electric hookups, fire pits & picnic tables. Most of the sites are nice size and have shade. There is a small spring fed lake for swimming. The lake is usually drained from December to March for maintenance. The hosts are friendly and keep the place looking nice.
