Krul Lake is my absolute favorite local weekend escape! The spring fed water is freezing cold but crystal clear, which is exactly what you need on a sweltering Florida summer day. We always hit the trails first. The boardwalk winding through the pine forest is stunning, and the suspension bridge is always a highlight. The facilities and bathrooms are surprisingly clean for a campground, and there are plenty of shaded picnic tables to claim if you get there early enough. It’s just pure, unspoiled Florida nature.
