As a court-appointed GAL, they submitted a letter to the judge recommending nearly 50/50 custody for a man who sexually assaulted me — despite clear and serious safety concerns. I expected a Guardian ad Litem to advocate in the best interest of the child and take trauma and abuse seriously. Instead, I felt unheard, unsupported, and retraumatized.
