Good help must be hard to find with the bare minimum pay, guess you pay for what you get. The owner should be ashamed of himself for treating his customers this way. Can’t be really a convenience store when under staffed and they close up to 2 hours early daily. Poorly ran businesses slowly drive people away. I will gladly take my business elsewhere even though I’ll have to drive farther. My heart goes out to what employees that they have knowing they have to “slave” to make ends meet and always ran ragged.
All 3 stores (Chassell, Houghton on 41, & Houghton in town) have info on Google that they are open til 10pm on Wednesday nights, but they were all 3 closed by 8pm. Plus, the short, dark haired woman that works both Chassell and Houghton on the highway, she is NOT good for the business ess when it is open. She is frequently outside smoking and will NOT come i side if a customer er goes inside until she is done with her cigarette. And when you walk by her to go inside she will not speak. This Krist Oil location consistently closes 30 minutes to an hour early every night, which is incredibly frustrating—especially when you make the trip expecting them to be open. There’s nothing worse than driving out of your way for gas, only to find the station closed when it should still be operating. Not only is it inconvenient, but it also wastes time and gas. Filled up on the way to Houghton. Clean and modern pumps. This station also has a diesel pump island for commercial trucks. Did not go into the store. Non-E gas is a bit more expensive here compared to stations further south. Price for regular gas was comparable to stations in L’Anse or Baraga.
