Very upsetting! My son goes to Dr. Kot to be examined for strep throat and the secretary informs him that he no longer accepts Empire Plan NYSHIP insurance. This is the accepted Stony Brook Southampton Hospital insurance. No letter to patients...no notice on door. Nothing. Obviously not deemed as URGENT to Dr. Kot. I guess his reimbursement rate changed...horrible interaction for a 'neighborly' doctor who now wants CASH!
2nd time Dr Kot saved the day for me! Got something stuck in my eye. I was in and out in minutes.
Always a great experience.
