After speaking with a physician about how the process normally goes with sleep centres, I came to realise that my experience here was rather unhelpful. I was left totally in the dark, and these folks don't follow normal procedures you'd find elsewhere. And so I recommend you go elsewhere!
I had a 8pm appointment there and I arrived 15 minutes early, I sat on the hot floor for over 90 minutes in the hallway because no staff showed up. Another patient showed up 45 minutes after I arrived and waited also. We tried every phone number on the papers that were given us but no forwarding, no emergency contact nothing! Neither of us were allowed to have any form of caffeine during the day, to make sure we were tired for this Polysomnogram. I have a severe physical disability and am a wheelchair user. I found this experience to be very unprofessional and unacceptable. For my initial appointment before the sleep study, I requested information on the room I’d be in, so I could know whether to bring my portable lift etc for my caregiver. Not only was my question not answered, but I was very rudely told “we’re not a hospital”. On the night of my study, the technician was not told I had a disability beforehand.
