Price gouging like crazy. 30% of my bill is a "service availability charge" really??? You want me to pay you for making your electricity available to me. I have moved around all over on active duty never in my life have I seen such a charge nor have I ever paid so much for electricity in general. My bill is atleast double than anywhere else in the country (where I have lived). Not to mention I have about half the square feet now to heat and cool. Come on guys get your policies reviewed

First impression, massively unethical company. Moved into a new home and were under the impression Avista provided all utilities and had our account transferred to new address. 2 weeks after move in Kootenai Electric Co-Op shut off our electricity with ZERO notification. Had we known the electric provider, we would have had an account set up at move in. Just a reminder to everyone using Kootenai electric!!! It is not normal to have a $400 deposit. If you’re already putting 1st, last, and deposit on a house, who has an extra $400 for a deposit on electric that you won’t get back for a year? It’s also not normal for an electric bill to be $250-$400 a month. And they will leave you and your family with out electricity in the dead of winter if you’re even remotely late.
