Not easy to get an appointment with certain doctors but once you do, they’re excellent.
BILLING: I went to the Bascom Palmer Emergency Room for a detached retnia emergency, to save my eyesight. Violating Florida Law ‘no surprise act’ BP is balance billing me for emergency services $16k. BP not responding to requests for help by web portal, email, and phone. All the services I’ve received are ‘emergency services’ for detached retnia, however BP billing department keeps submitting billing codes to my insurance company as 'out-of-network'. BP illegally wouldn't perform emergency surgery unless I paid $15k upfront.... read more
My father is a patient here, a week ago he had surgery on tuesday he was experiencing extreme discomfort. They did not do a full exam sent him home with new eye drops, wendsday afternoon his eye has swelled substantially with discharge coming out. Two techs come in to measure eye pressure neither can get a reading, I ask the nurse what his eye pressure was she was stand offish says she doesn't know she hasn't read the chart. Cataract Surgery. I opted for Bascom Palmer due to their reputation, and that multiple providers were giving me different assessment re my cataracts, and that I had corneal PRK more than 2 decades ago (which adds to the complexity of chosing the right lenses). For now, I am giving this facility two stars. I will increase it if my current efforts to obtain informed follow up care result in a positive experience.
