Nostro figlio non si è sentito bene mentre eravamo alle Hawai'i, febbre molto alta e letargia. In Italia avremmo chiesto alla pediatra di famiglia di visitarlo, ma qui all'estero, per sicurezza, l'abbiamo portato al pronto soccorso del Kona Community Hospital, dopo aver aperto la pratica con l'assicurazione. Il medico ha svolto una visita scrupolosa, anche attraverso analisi di laboratorio, ci ha rassicurato e dato indicazioni molto precise. Dagli infermieri ai dottori, sono stati tutti sollieciti e gentili.

Staff restrained me after presenting to the hospital in a mental health crisis. I was stripped of my clothes and strapped to a bed with random security guards watching me with their phones out and no one able to help me for hours. After a couple hours I talked to a doctor and was let go for the confusion but no one in the large group of people there was any support for the actual health concerns.

While vacationing, my wife had an emergency medical situation which necessitated surgery. EVERYONE at this hospital truly worked with a genuine sense of "ohana". We felt as if they really cared for us by going out of their way to make a tough situation into a pleasant one. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I was in the ICU for approximately 5 days. I received unbelievably excellent care. Dr. Sanchez and nurse Suzanne were absolutely incredible with me and my care! My surgeon, anesthesiologist, and their team were kind, considerate, and easy to communicate with. The whole Ortho team went above and beyond with my care. I have never had a good experience at the Kona hospital and usually avoided it anyway I could. But this time it was like going to a whole new facility. Mahalo Nui to everyone for the best care I ever had.
