Visiting Reno for work and I dropped in on the Friday afternoon session. The training facility was world class, the instruction was amazing, the students were all fun to train with, and it was clean. The environment was positive and team focused - there was no one there trying to win the world championship. Everyone was working together to get better. I highly recommend.
My 11 year old son has trained here for a year and half now. I can say this gym offers something for everyone looking to either get in shape self defense competing etc etc although my sons primary focus at this time is competing. In my opinion the best quality of the gym is everyone is super accepting and welcoming to anyone and everyone in fact I do believe this gym is the only one I know of that has open gym meaning they welcome others from different gyms to come and train and make some new friends. Best No Gi gym in Reno
As a travel nurse I have trained at multiple schools across the country. From day one of my 10 month stay at Komainu I was taken in and treated as part of the family. It is my opinion that you will not find a better group of men and women anywhere, either on or off the mat. The instruction is second to none and it is apparent that these men do what they do for the love of Jiu jitsu and their students NOT simply to turn a profit. If want to train, they are the best you will find.
Great experience dropping in from out of town. Friendly group of students. Great size for an 11am class. Had a good lesson and fun rolls. Thanks for the hospitality!
