We visit SPI every year for the past 30+ years and Kohnami is our last night on the island tradition. The service is always top shelf and the food always tastes great. Our only complaint is the price and portion sizes compared to our local Teppanyaki restaurants. For our group of 7 it typically comes out to approximately $400 with 20% gratuity included. Firstly, our server was a really nice kid. However, it took over an hour to get our sushi and the portions were so tiny. It was unbelievably loud and a gentleman that worked there would intermittently yell, though he was friendly. I won't be back.
I recommend this place for the food, for the vibe and for the service. It was my birthday and my 18 months old baby was absolutely crazy, all of them were very helpful with him as well on serve us, good drink, the sushi is very well made, and although we didn’t seat at the hibachi tables, we saw it happening and it was very interesting and fun. A special shout out to Reanan (sorry for the probably wrong spelling), she was amazing!! Very attentive and made us feel very welcome.
