They are not a puppy mill.  Except for one puppy I have had the pleasure of training a number of Koedam Kennels Pups,  along with their owners, . They have made incredible family pets, and most have gone on to become registered Therapy Dogs.   They are a commercial kennel.  This merely means they are not bred in her basement or living room - but have their own incredible building. Kodeam Kennels is a puppy mill. I recently adopted a four year old dog who was abandoned by this operation in a trailer along with 18 other dogs. It's a puppy mill plain and simple. Do not support puppy mills. They are a curel way to raise any pet.

We love our Yorkie poo but sadly I realize I bought him from a puppy mill. They are a clean, organized and well run puppy mill & I doubt any animal goes unfed or tortured, but they are under socialized & their puppy factory is too large to give love or socialize with the dogs, you will never meet or see the dog parents. I'm sad for the lives of the breed dogs, they have far too many breeds for those dogs to be anyone's loved pets. I did months and months of research to find an ethical breeder. I knew exactly what I wanted and explained this to Wanda at Koedam Kennels. My experience with both Wanda and Koedam Kennels has been one of the delights of my life. Because my almost 1 year old puppy is so cute, playful, smart,willing to love and please I am frequently stopped and asked what kind of dog and where did I get him. I explain I named him Koeda in honor of his breeder in Iowa. Kudos to Koedam Kennel !

Just a response to this from Wanda and Allen, owners of Koedam Kennels.. After 32 years of breeding puppies and selling privately, this is the hardest man I have ever worked with. Constant phone calls, constant emails. I did call him an idiot, and I apologized to him, it was wrong and I am sorry I did it, but it was out of such frustration from his constant demands. PART 2 I finally get a text at the end of the following week showing they decided not to do another giagardia test because it was $45 and that they would be selling to someone else if I wanted it tested as promised. Again, Wanda was confused about cocidia and giagardia. If I could give a zero stars I would. I was buying a puppy from Wanda and Allen at Koedom Kennels. It was an incredible struggle getting proper paper work for shots and the like and ultimately was treated in an aggressive and combative manner. I asked if the dog had any vet checks and Wanda said none of their puppies receive a vet check prior to leaving. I called some breeders and they informed me if dog is being sold across state lines she requires a health certificate and a visit with a licensed vet. I called Wanda and... read more
