Had a pretty good experience at ED as far as hospital visits go. Think we were lucky to come on a sunny Sunday afternoon where there seemed to be very few patients waiting. Got in almost immediately after doing paperwork and into a bed. Nurse Erica was super lovely and kind and looked after my elderly mum really while being nice and cheerful. Had the scans done and Dr came around quite quickly too. Overall it was a very civilized and quite efficient visit to ED.
Despite having a doctors referral and waiting nearly an hour my wife was was told in would be some tsignificant time before she could be seen by a nurse who would Dede whether she could be admitted. Went to Box Hill and was seen immediately.
Decided to pay for good services. After GP insisted going to ED. Have neen triaged 5 hours still not seen a Dr and they have left me in reception. Not even xheching vitals for my Asthma. 5 hours in reception
I went on day 6 of a migraine post influenza because I was very unwell. The nurse called me back and asked me to explain what brought me in, then interrupted me to tell me to slow my breathing and did I have anxiety? I explained to her again that I had just got over the flu, was wearing a mask and had exacerbated asthma. She then said we could try fluids as I was dehydrated, I explained we had tried that at another hospital the day before and she goes “well what difference did you expect from us today?”.
