Decided to pay for good services. After GP insisted going to ED. Have neen triaged 5 hours still not seen a Dr and they have left me in reception. Not even xheching vitals for my Asthma. 5 hours in reception

I went on day 6 of a migraine post influenza because I was very unwell. The nurse called me back and asked me to explain what brought me in, then interrupted me to tell me to slow my breathing and did I have anxiety? I explained to her again that I had just got over the flu, was wearing a mask and had exacerbated asthma. She then said we could try fluids as I was dehydrated, I explained we had tried that at another hospital the day before and she goes “well what difference did you expect from us today?”. My husband and I have both had very bad experiences at Knox Private Hospital. A lot of the Nurses don’t care or are over worked. Some Drs are rude and don’t discuss the problem. The Hospital gives priority to out patients for scans and in Patients can wait 5 days for a heart scan. My husband rang me during the night as he had pressed the buzzer to go to the toilet and no one came it was an hour. I rang through reception and no one answering the ward. My son was referred to ED due to PR bleeding. We waited for 3hrs in the waiting room without getting anything done but only paperwork and payment of $470. We asked the ED staff and was told it's been this type of long waiting practice and he couldn't do anything because he's just an employee. So we left and headed to Boxhill ER from triage, tests and consultation done in less than 3hrs eventhough they are way busier than Knox. Talking about efficiency of private hospital ED vs public hospitals.
