A very jarring and unpleasant experience. The receptionist said she could not get an updated authorization from the VA. After getting the VA on the phone, it was discovered that she had been faxing the request to the wrong facility's main telephone number and not a Fax number. It was also found that an updated authorization was not needed because old had not expired. The nurse showed me into the exam room where the metal tray was encrusted with yellow stuff. I needed to cancel due to insurance authorization and VA scheduling Snafu. After at least 3 calls in the prior week to say I needed to cancel for the reasons of insurance and the VA. Then days before the date of the appointment I canceled at least 3 times.. . I get a automated call telling me I still have the appointment! I pressed 9 as directed to cancel. yet I still don't know if that canceled it or not. Who's running that org. anyway? Is anyone at the wheel? When I say "cancel the appointment".
