Worked for Mark Klatke. Wrote out building plans on a napkin, and rarely even saw him. It took a month and numerous phone calls to receive my last check after being laid off. Still will not respond to my calls about getting my W-2 tax information.
More errors found since my last post. No roof permit obtained and Mark had not paid the roofer even though we paid for the roof revision. Mark did not pay the tile people and offered us a credit for this work!! We paid the tile guys. Mark didn't pay the lumber yard either.
He had no supervision at our project and then charges us for mistakes that were made. His HVAC subcontractors put in the wrong size furnance and didn't hook it up. He had to change the furnace. His painting subcontractors put on the wrong type of stain so he had to sand it down and do it again. When we asked for better supervision on our project he stated it would cost $85/hr. Isn't that what a contractor does?
Mark has defrauded us out of $20,000-30,000. We have paid him 96% of our Construction agreement and our project is only 80% finished. Mark refuses to finish the project and gave us a Notice of Stoppage of Work on November 5, 2018. We started this project on Feb. 5, 2018 were told it would take 3-5 months, after 11 months the addition still is not finished. Mark still owes one of our subcontracts $8300.
