We paid $1,814.50 and waited six weeks to receive the petition and affidavit, both of which contained incorrect names and factual errors. Our step-parent adoption case is straightforward, as all parties are in agreement. However, Celia requested additional information that was not necessary and prepared an affidavit for the petitioner that, according to the adoption registrar at the Supreme Court, was not required.
