I hope never to have breast cancer again. But I will not see Dr Laurie Kirstein again. While surgery went okay she did not inform me about after care especially avoiding lymphedema. I felt her answers were always short & she would just lengthen healing time with any complaint I had. I learned more after care from other breast cancer survivors than from this doctor.
She explains everything clearly, doesn’t rush you, is professional and personable. Although I was there 3 hours, no time was wasted. They are very thorough and efficient

After noting breast changes (that turned out be cancer) a month after having a normal mammogram and ultrasound I knew to find a new surgeon and team that I could trust to treat my cancer. Dr. Kirstein at MSKCC was the right person-smart, thorough, and very easy to talk to. I trusted her immediately! Her bedside manner is incredible. Staff is professional and courteous and the use of the MSKCC portal is an efficient system to track appts. and view pertinent information. I am grateful for MSKCC.
Dr. Kirstein is a wonderful and caring doctor. She was my surgeon when I had a mastectomy and she did a wonderful job. Anyone would be lucky to have her.
