I'm completely saddened by the lack of empathy Kirkwood Mall showed today. Peaceful protests are legal. Freedom of speech is a right granted to every American. According to police (from a live video), staff at Kirkwood Mall proclaimed they did not want any Water Protectors on site. Those people standing up against the Dakota Access Pipeline are doing that for everyone who requires water to live. And for the record, the only violence shown was inflicted by police officers. Hi Ashley, Kirkwood Mall is private property and maintains a code of conduct that ensures that operations inside the shopping center are not disrupted. The protestors were asked to leave today as part of that code of conduct, specifically section five, which prohibits any non-permitted assembling. Great place to shop or bring the kids to play. Friendly staff and they go above and beyond to keep their shoppers and end employers safe and happy...especially the children who were watching. Keep up the great work!
