Told a rabbit owner to fast her rabbit before being neutered and for a day after. When rabbits cannot vomit (like dogs and cats which is why they need fasting) and rabbits digestive tracks need to constantly be moving for 12 hours or they can die of GI stasis. They should never be faster. Very upsetting this girl almost lost her rabbit because of this advice. Would NOT reccomend

We apologize for any misunderstanding that may have occurred with the owner. Our Doctor that did the surgery has had years of experience with rabbits (surgeries as well as illness) and has done several surgeries on rabbits in just the past week. And we have never had any issues with rabbit spay's or neuter's. We only ask that cats and dogs fast before surgery and only after midnight the night before. Dr. Doak and her staff have gone above and beyond to help us while our bulldog has been extremely ill. We had been told the worst news at MU Vet Hospital in Columbia and this office took the time out on a Sunday to care for our Zoe. We are so very blessed to have such a wonderful vet and employees to go above and beyond to care for our Zoe. If you ever are in need of care for your pet please make sure to go see Dr. Doak. She is very knowledgeable and caring. Thanks for everything you have done for our family.
Today my heart was shattered in a million pieces. My sweet baby Ellie had to be put down. Dr. Doak and her staff went above and beyond to make this heartbreaking time a little easier. The care they showed me and my sweet baby was wonderful. Thanks again!
We made our first visit here this morning. The staff was amazing with helping me keep an eye on my little one while my dog was being crazy! A big thank you for that! They were also very nice and treated my dog very well! She is already looking much better. Will definitely be going back!
