Tasty Adventures This restaurant is always a pleasant experience. The service is friendly with employees that actually take the time to get to know their customers. There is also the food quality, which is above average. I have never had a dish that I didn't enjoy. With a huge selection and variety, there is something there to please anyones appetite. I reccommend a few items there; the award winning pot-stickers, walnut prawns, peking spareribs, mushroom chicken, crispy garlic chicken, and the Kirin Beef. The kirin beef and... read more
Take-out reigns here We've eaten at Kirin's twice now. The first time we noticed the slow service but didn't know the cause. This past week we ate there again, and were seated at the back of the second room, where we had a good view of the cashier's counter. Now we know the cause of the slow/poor service. They don't seem to have anyone assigned to processing take-out orders, so when one is ready, one of the waiters must stop serving customers. The counter was constantly full of bags of take-out foot. Next time we'll either j... read more

This is the best Chinese within 30+ miles – I'm going to bet that there isn't a better Mu Shu even in San Francisco. The veggies are CRISP and Vibrant and served with thin slices of spring onions. A small but significant touch. The hoisin is bottled but a venial sin in the context of the amazing veg. Hot and Sour soup here is magnificent, though why the peas and carrots?? Sichzuan beef is awesome. Now that I've typed all this, I'm wondering, "yeah what's WITH the peas &carrots and the bottled hoisin?" in a restaurant that co... read more
Consistently Excellent We have been treating ourselves to Kirin every Thursday evening for at least 3 years and have found it to be THE BEST Chinese in town, consistently. Though we have tried most of the items on the menu, their Princess Prawns will make you weep, they are so delicious. Another of our favorites (though not on the menu) are the steak and green peppers. Their sauces coupled with properly cooked veggies make for a wonderful experience. A family owned and operated Santa Rosa must do. PROS: Consistently deliciou... read more

Renowned chinese restaurant not meeting its reputation – Ordered the Hunan beef, $9.50 since the Mongolian beef is not specially marinated. The beef was tender but bland. Vegetables included carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, snow peas, zucchini, green onions, bok choy, and tiny corns. I would ask for them to add onions, celery, and green pepper. Forget their brown sauce which is bland and the black bean which is too salty. The potstickers, $6.95 were tasty but half the size I'm used to. The shrimp with black bean sauce, $10.95 w... read more
Great chinese-rivals Gary Chu's This eastside gem is a fairly recent ( just a couple years) addition to our favorite places. They rival our longtime favorite-Gary Chu's- as our best chinese restaurant in town. Their dining room is a bit smaller then Gary Chu's but still plenty of room to eat in- but we mostly pick up and take home for family get togethers. Don't miss there sweet and sour chicken, green beans, sizzling rice soup, and spicy beef. All the basics are good too (eggrolls, chow mein, fried rice). You can call ahead... read more
