Dr. Mishra was my first therapist and I began seeing her early 2019. She helped me see that taking care of myself and changing small habits would really make me feel better emotionally, physically, mentally, etc. My time with her was not a complete waste. However, when the pandemic began she started to become more harmful than helpful. I would talk about how it made me sad that I couldn't see friends or go out and she would ask why not, and encouraged me to do things that would have put my immunocompromised family at risk. I would not recommend Dr. Mishra. She does not practice high quality care. She began as my parents' couples therapist and over time convinced our whole family to begin individual treatment with her. It was not until I entered my PhD program that I realized this was strictly against ethical standards of psychologists and psychiatrists alike. It also explains why her care was so ineffective in helping resolve our family issues. I've waited quite a while to post this, I wanted to get far away from the experience and see if that would change my mind about how we were treated... it didn't. My husband and I were seeing Dr. Mishra for couple's counseling. I think we saw her a total of 3 times and by the end of the 3rd visit I never wanted to see this lady again - not in a therapist environment, not in real life at the grocery store.
