I am the President of Kips Carpet Cleaning and I feel I must respond to this review. First let me say that I am disappointed that our technicians did not do a good job explaining why they could not clean your vents. Had they you would not have had this impression. We have been cleaning air duct systems for many years and one thing we know is you can find other contractors that will clean vents covered in asbestos, we happen to be one that will not. If you are a fan of groupon - don't buy one from Kips! While they seem like a good deal, there WILL be extra charges. I bought one for air vent cleanding (7 vents for $70), however when they come to clean the vents I get an estimate for $1500! I have 10 vents, so obviously I'll have to pay for the 3 that aren't in my deal, no big deal. But then they say they have to clean the furnace which is another $150 and since my house (like many in Lawrence) was built in the 1940's they have to do asbestos removal for a total of $1,300... read more
