We were denied entry because the bouncer accused my friend with cerebral palsy of being drunk (at 7pm).
My partner and I went for a quick drink in this venue before heading home to our hotel after seeing a band. We had 2 drinks previous to coming into kings tavern. At the door, I was stopped and asked how many drinks I had. Then the security grabbed my bag and proceeded to get his security radio antenna in my bag to check if I had anything. Alright venue but not the best on the cross. Despite being quiet the staff seemed a bit disengaged.
Being stopped by security and not allowed to enter whilst hosting clients was an avoidable situation. Everyone was sober, middle-aged and polite. When you have security on personal power trips at the expense of your patronage you have a problem. It now explains why the place was empty when other venues were full last night when we visited.
