He's a good guy, and is clearly very passionate, but why would you make people stand in the hot sun despite having adequate seating inside. The prices are very similar to Sportsclips/Greatclips. Hate to say that I dont see any unique selling points.
Knowledgeable and courteous; if the door seems locked but the sign says they're open, just knock. Cash-only so come prepared but for your money this is a great place to get a haircut
In 1968 - 1969 I rented one of the two apartments in the small house on the corner. It looks like it's a parking lot now. Mr. King was our landlord, a really nice man. In the apartment above the barber shop lived a young couple who had an Irish setter named Scarlett. Good memories from my senior year at the U of I. I'm so glad to see that 57 years later, Mr. King's barbershop is still going strong and is a popular place in town.
Great barber. I've been going to him for a few years, work permitting, and never got a bad haircut.
