Horrible customer service. Mediocre food. Picked up food with co-worker split the bill, I was charged for the entire bill when I brought this to the attention of the hostess she took my credit card voided the charge and charged it again. It takes a few days for the money to go back on the card. The rice is mushy and overcooked. The salt and pepper prawns well seasoned but overcooked also for 9.50 you expect to have the carton filled however 25% of it is lettuce. $50 for such a waste never again!!!

Good The first time I went to King Dong was during lunch hours on a school day. I was worried that the service would take a long time and that I wasn't going to make it to class on time, but the food got to my table pretty fast. I got the Kung Pao 3 Combo which was super good, and there was a whole lot of it! With your lunch special you get a serving of rice, a side salad, and a side sweet and sour soup. Great Lunch Specials I love going to King Dong's to get their lunch specials. They're tasty, cheap, and huge. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Nice place to enjoy a satisfying meal with friends!
hot food, hot waitstaff, funny name what else could you ask for.king dong is a great little hole in the wall restaurant. i was there over the 4/20 weekend and i had kung pao chicken which i usually get, it did not disappoint me in the heat or the taste category. i was lucky to be served by not only a very friendly waitress but she was also very attractive as well. short hair biggest butt in the place keep your eyes out for her. this first time got me hooked i will drive from Santa Barbara to go there again.
Decent fare Chinese Food The food is alright, and their lunch specials are ok. I can't say I really enjoyed it, but it was ok food. I personally would rather drive 15 minutes to downtown Oakland for cheap great Chinese food and support the local Chinatown community there. FYI My friend yacked after eating their food, but hes not the most cultured White boy, so I wouldn't let his experience shun you away.
So, the name is kind of funny, but the food is good. Offering tasty Chinese food at a great price on Shattuck Avenue in beautiful downtown Berkeley, this restaurant is great for take out or for a quick dine-in lunch or dinner. The friendly staff is eager to please and the food is worth every penny....and of course, you've got to love the name!
