Enjoyed dinner here with my daughter. Elegant atmosphere with friendly service. Highly recommend the tuna tartare app and the Salmon for a main. The brussel sprouts were delicious as a side!
During a recent business trip, I had the opportunity to dine at the King Bar by David Burke, located within the Garden City Hotel. I opted for a light solo lunch and was very pleased with the experience. I ordered the dry-aged burger cooked medium, which came topped with American cheese, caramelized onions, smoked aioli, and bacon, all served on a brioche bun with a side of fries. It was my first time here and George, Ed, and Michael were great! George was so helpful and attentive. My glasses were never empty and he was so patient explaining the menu.
A bit disappointing- arrived cold even though we were staying at the hotel. But everyone was very nice and welcoming- I just expected a perfect meal for the price. Also to be fair- it was a rough night and everything seemed to go wrong. We didn’t end up staying the night due to the fact that the room was unbelievably hot.
The food and service were very good, and the atmosphere is elegant. The filet mignon was well prepared. However, two unusual issues stood out. I was told it was mandatory to leave my coat at the coat check, and when I declined, I was told they would take it anyway if I wasn’t wearing it. Later, there was no staff present at the coat check, meaning anyone could have taken any coat, which was concerning. Also, no steak knife was provided with the filet mignon.
