We had a very nice weekend staying at the Hotel Fontenot. The hotel is centrally located several blocks away from Bourbon Street, the casino, the river, and a few other places. Rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone working there was very friendly. The coffee shop and restaurant on the first floor were also very convenient. Worth considering if you are visiting New Orleans and need a place to stay.

While the hotel is not directly in the French Quarter, it’s an easy and pleasant walk to all the action. You get the convenience of being close without the constant noise and crowds right outside your door. If you’re flying into MSY, I highly recommend skipping the Uber. There’s a 202 bus that runs from the airport and drops you off just across the street from the hotel. It only costs $1.25. My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We used Chase's Edit and IHG credit, so really didn't come much out of pocket for our 2 day stay. Valet was on the pricey side, but again was covered by our Edit Credit. Our room was upgraded to a suite as well. Additionally, we got $45 per day to cover breakfast. Without these, the hotel would have leaned a bit on the "too expensive" side, but was great for us with these extra benefits. The rooms are gross. They need to add a glass to the shower to keep the water from constantly destroying the walls. The pillows on the bed had stains on them etc. Besides that, this hotels management is AWFUL. We left our truck with valet. The first night the valet was great, he explained our truck was too big for the structure so it had to stay on the street. We stayed here for 3 nights during Mardi Gras. The hotel was probably at full capacity so I gave them some grace, BUT if they are going to charge event pricing, they should have the supplies and staff ready to handle the crowd. This was my first stay at a Kimpton and it felt anything but luxury.
